Nothing much to say about this one, "Alphataurus", by sure one of the ten best Italian prog records of all times.

"Alpahataurus" is a masterpiece, so well crafted and played that it seems impossible that it has been made by a group of unknowns. The singer Bavaro has a very original voice, keyboard player Pietro Pellegrini plays with competence and no self-indulgence, the guitar-playing of Guido Wasserman is well cared and the rhythm section of Oliva and Santandrea creates a powerful background.

The album includes five long compositions of which "Peccato d'orgoglio" and "La mente vola" are the best, the latter featuring a nice moog intro and a stunning vibes solo.

Non c'è molto da dire su questa uscita, visto che il debutto degli Alphataurus è sicuramente uno dei dieci migliori dischi prog italiano di tutti i tempi.

"Alpahataurus" è un capolavoro, così ben costruito che sembra impossibile che sia stato realizzato da un gruppo di musicisti sconosciuti. Il cantante Bavaro ha una voce potente ed originale, il tastierista Pietro Pellegrini suona con competenza e senza invadenza, la chitarra di Guido Wasserman è curata e la sezione ritmica di Oliva e Santandrea crea una base possente.

L'album comprende cinque lunghi brani, tra i quali spiccano "Peccato d'orgoglio" e "La mente vola", quest'ultimo con una bella introduzione di moog e uno splendido assolo di vibrafono.

Anyone with an aversion to "contemporary prog" should listen to Wobbler and they'd realize that prog classics are not just confined to the 1970s. This album is just so tight on every level that if you'd have told me this was recorded in 1974, I'd have no basis for questioning it other than the lack of more prominent tape hiss.
