When we announced the reunion of Alphataurus in 2010, after over 35 years of silence, many people waited for the usual odd nostalgia concert without major consequences. This proved not to be true, as that November 6th gig turned out to be a memorable event for the lucky 700 people who came at the Bloom in Mezzago, and the few who were lucky enough to see the band yesterday and today, confirm that Alphataurus haven’t lost an ounce of energy and enthusiasm that made them, forty years after their only LP, one of the most esteemed and beloved bands of the Italian seventies prog scene.

After the success of that show Alphataurus did not stop, as the band promised to return on stage and studio permanently. As a first sign of life, we’re giving you the professional recording of that memorable evening, witnessing one of the greatest live comebacks of Italian Progressive Rock. The dove is back!

The vinyl release contains all the tracks of their debut work, while the CD contains the whole concert with some fantastic unreleased tracks, that were played that night. Artwork by Adriano Marangoni, the same who painted the cover of their legendary debut!

Quando annunciammo il concerto di reunion degli Alphataurus nel 2010, dopo oltre 35 anni di silenzio, molti si aspettarono la solita reunion all’insegna della nostalgia senza grandi strascichi. Invece il concerto degli Alphataurus della notte del 6 novembre fu un evento memorabile per le 700 fortunate persone che quella sera vennero al Bloom di Mezzago, un concerto davvero eccezionale per passione e energia e i pochi che hanno avuto la fortuna di vedere gli Alphataurus di ieri e di oggi confermano che la band non ha perso un briciolo dell’energia e dell’entusiasmo che li ha resi, a quarant’anni di distanza del loro unico LP, uno dei gruppi più stimati ed amati della scena del prog italiano degli anni settanta.

Dopo il successo di quella esibizione gli Alphataurus non sono stati con le mani in mano, ma promettono un ritorno in pianta stabile. Come primo segno di vita, vi proponiamo proprio la registrazione professionale di quella memorabile serata, a testimonianza di uno dei rientri più devastanti del prog italiano. La colomba è tornata!

Per motivi di spazio il vinile contiene unicamente tutti i brani del lavoro di esordio, mentre il CD contiene tutto il concerto e quindi anche una serie di fantastici inediti, suonati quella sera.
La copertina è a cura di Adriano Marangoni, lo stesso del loro mitico debutto!
